The Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter (RVDF) is a continuous filtration system designed to efficiently separate starch from slurry after the hydrocyclone concentration process. It uses vacuum pressure to form a uniform starch cake on the surface of a rotating drum while allowing the filtrate (water) to pass through the filter media. Continuous operation ensures high productivity, minimal manual intervention and consistent starch recovery.
At Vimson India Engineers LLP, our Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter is specially engineered for the potato processing industry to recover starch with high efficiency while reducing water consumption and product losses. The machine is manufactured using SS304 stainless steel to ensure excellent corrosion resistance, hygienic operation and long service life.
The concentrated starch slurry is continuously fed into the filter tank. As the drum rotates, vacuum pressure draws liquid through the filter cloth, retaining starch particles on the drum surface to form a cake. The cake is further dewatered under vacuum before being discharged by a scraper blade. The filtered water is collected separately and can be reused within the process, significantly reducing fresh water consumption.
